- Enjoins other South-Western States To Emulate Lagos
As the pronouncement of September date for the celebration of Yoruba culture in Lagos state gathers acceptability, a pan Lagos group,committed to good governance and development in the state, Lagos People’s Assembly (LPA) has commended Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his progressive initiative which will be used for the preservation of Yoruba culture and heritage.
LPA in a press release on Friday signed by its convener, Comrade Gbenga Soloki appreciated the state assembly for the resolution on the subject matter, while urging other states in southwest to emulate Lagos by also choosing a specific day to celebrate the rich Yoruba culture and heritage.
The LPA convener further advised that all interest groups in the state must be carried along while planning the event slated for the last week of September.
In his words, “let me on behalf of members of our noble group, the Lagos People’s Assembly (LPA), commend Mr Governor for the initiative to celebrate the yoruba week in September. This is a novel and progressive idea geared towards celebrating the rich culture and tradition of Yorubas, which invariably will promote the tourism potentials of the state.
Governor Sanwoolu has shown once again that he is a diligent administrator with passion for development.”
Conclusively, “we wish the state wonderful time as the preparation for the celebration of the maiden edition of Yoruba week continues and we shall be part of the history of the remarkable achievement.”
