The Epe Local Government Council Chairman, Ms. Surah Animashaun says her administration remains committed to securing the local government council as well as creating peaceful, stable and enabling socio-economic environment for all inhabitants.
The Chairperson gave the assurance when she received members of the Epe Concerned Group (ECG), led by its state’s Chairman, Mr. Olayemi Toheeb Balogun, at the Council Secretariat, Ita-Marun, Epe, Lagos State.
According to the Chairman, her administration is focused on having a local government council where families will be safe and urged the leaders of the ECG to spread the message that she remains committed to securing the council to the good people of the council area.
She said: “Our vision for change is to have a safe and secured local government for our inhabitants, a vibrant and inclusive economy that provides jobs and livelihood for our people and energetic teeming youths and of course a governance system that is free of marginalisation where every inhabitants has the same opportunity.
“As a responsible and reliable group, I urge you all to take the message back to other groups and associations in the local government council. It is not about politics, religion or tribe.
“It is about having a council where our family will be safe and our children will have plenty opportunities to earn a living and have comfortable lives.’’
While thanking the group for the hardwork, dedication, perseverance and patience for the last two-and-half years of her administration, the Chairman pledged that her administration would continue to deliver on its mandate.
“I thank you all for the hardwork, commitment, steadfastness and dedication you showed to the present administration, specifically how you conducted yourselves in a peaceful and patriotic manner for the past two-and-half years.
“I want to assure you all that as a government we will not let you down, we are going to do more, all what you are witnessing is a tips of iceberg, just count on me at all time,’’ Animashaun said.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the group said the officials were in the council to commend the Chairperson on her developmental projects across the local government area, noting that she has performed excellently to be reckoned with.
He said that Epe indigenes had a lot of confidence in her and this informed her to recontest in the 2025 local government election.
“The masses, inhabitants of Epe division and the commoners renewed their trust in you, as they believe you are capable of taking them out of mystery and suffering,’’ he added.
