Benjamin Hundeyin is the amiable, well-spoken Police Public Relations officer of the Lagos State Police Command.
Well educated, well-travelled and a consummate professional, he would still have excelled in the corporate world, either as a public relations executive or as the corporate communications driver of any brand or organisation.
It is a known fact that the images of the police as an organisation is not the easiest to manage, no thanks to the activities of some bad eggs within the fold of the force, but in spite of this, Hundeyin has acquitted himself well by engaging the populace, giving on-the-spot and up-to-date information, and being easily accessible at all times. He is hardly caught unawares whenever there is a development in the state that requires the attention of the police or that requires either the media or the general public to get a clear picture of the situation from the police.
From Badagry in the Lagos West Senatorial District, it won’t be wrong if one describes Benjamin as a son of the soil. Professionally, he is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, ACIPM, an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, ANIPR; and a member of the International Public Relations Association, PRA.
A Superintendent of Police, SP, Hundeyin holds a BA (Hons) in English Language from the Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He also holds a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Hundeyin was one-time PPRO at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos and was a member of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020.
Until his recent appointment, he was the Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
