ENGR. SOMIDE LATEEF AYODELE
Permanent Secretary, Office of Infrastructure
Engr. Lateef Ayodele Somide was born on the June 2, 1965 to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Jamiu Ikeoluwa Somide in Ikorodu, Ikorodu Local Government Area.
He attended Jamatul Islamiya School, Ikorodu, Lagos from 1972 to 1978 and thereafter proceeded to Muslim High School, Sagamu, Ogun State from year 1978 to 1983 and Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State in year 1983 to 1985 where he bagged a National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
His display of academic excellence also earned him admission into University of Benin, Benin City in year 1985 to 1990 where he also graduated with a degree in B.Sc. Civil Engineering and served the country diligently under the NYSC scheme in Ekiti State. Due to his quest for more knowledge, he proceeded to the Lagos State University, Ojo where he bagged a Masters in Business Administration, Production Operation Management in the year 2002.
Engr. Somide Lateef Ayodele is a thoroughbred Engineer, a teacher, mentor and inspiration to many, young and old! He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE) and a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE).
He started his civil service career as Traffic Operation Officer in December, 1993 and was deployed to the then Lagos State Ministry of Works and Transportation to enhance traffic management on Lagos Roads. He was thereafter deployed as area Engineer of Somolu and Ojo Local Government Areas between March, 1994 to February 2000 where he actively participated in the following projects;
* Construction of Mile 12 Pedestrian Bridge by Julius Berger Plc,
* Construction of Sari-Iganmu, Bakare Faro, Mosafejo-Alaba Oro and Cemetery Roads by Julius Berger;
* Construction of Mile 12-Ajelogo Road through Direct Labour and
* Construction of Otedola Bridge Underpass Road by Direct Labour
Thereafter, he rose to the rank of a Director and became the Director of Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry Works and Infrastructure as a result of dedication, hard work, loyalty and commitment to service delivery and having positively contributed to the successful completion of major road projects in the State such as Abraham Adesanya Network of Roads (Phase I), Shasha Millennium, Ojokoro Millennium (Phase I), Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Thompson, Milverton, Lateef Jakande and Mc-Donald Roads, Ikoyi and Expansion of Lagos Badagry Expressway from 4-lanes to 10 lanes among others.
His dedication and commitment to effective service delivery led to his recommendation and appointment as the General-Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation on 1st February, 2022 by Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu who also approved his appointment to the post of Permanent Secretary- Office of Infrastructure on January 29, 2024, having judiciously served the State and raised the Bar of Service Delivery on Road Repair and Maintenance across the entire five divisions of the State.
Engr. Somide loves dancing, playing table tennis and travelling. He is happily married to Alhaja Riskat Oluwatoyin Somide and the marriage is blessed with two Boys, Luqman and Jubril.
ENGR. TOKUNBO AJANAKU
General Manager, Lagos State Public Works Corporation
The new General Manager, Lagos State Public works Corporation Engr.Tokunbo Ajanaku was the Director Project, Planning and Development for the Lagos state ministry of works and infrastructure.
A creative Civil Engineer, specializing in the cost-effective, efficient completion of high end projects with a very keen interest in sustainability and environmental productivity.
He is a past chairman of the Nigerian institution of civil engineers.
Highly proficient in document management and project support, goal-orientated with dynamic management skills and driving projects to accurate, efficient and sustainable completion.
A top-notch problem-solver with excellent attention to details, offering about 30 years’ experience, coordinating large teams, meeting detailed project specifications and consistently working within budget.
He has worked and Managed execution of Ajah and Freedom Roads & Bridges, and ensuring timely, cost-effective completion.
Managed execution of the improvement of Berger corridor (Phase 1 – 3) + Pedestrian Bridges and ensuring timely, cost-effective completion.
He Managed execution of Lekki Epe Expressway, from Ch 0 + 000 (Lagos law school) to ch.16 + 300 (Abraham Adesanya Round About).
He Managed the execution of Ikoyi Network of roads; Thompson Avenue, Milverton Road, Lateef Jakande Road, Macdonald Road, Cooper Road, Oyinkan Abayomi Road and Macpherson Road.
Managing the execution of Regional Road project – Roads & Bridges,.
He Managed the execution of lekki Epe Expressway from Eleko junction to Epe T junction – Roads & Bridges.Managing the execution of Adeniji Adele Road, Okepopo/Tappa Roads in Lagos Island L.G.A. .
Improved quality, cost and time metrics on Housing project at Abraham Adesanya, Housing Scheme, resulting in 15% improvement on-time and on budget delivery.
He Planned and designed site layouts for Ojokoro Housing Estate, Oko Oba Housing Estate from concept to completion.
He’s a member of various professional bodies; a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution for Civil Engineers (FNICE), a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE) and a corporate member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
OMO EKO PATAKI
ENGR. DARAMOLA OLUFEMI OLUBUNMI
Special Adviser on Infrastructure
Engr. Daramola Olufemi Olubunmi is the Lagos State Governor’s Special Adviser on Infrastructure.
He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, Akoka and was employed into the Lagos State Civil Service in 1995.
He is a consummate Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience spanning across various Ministries and agencies within the Lagos State Civil Service. These include the Lagos State Public Works Corporation where he was a Road Maintenance Engineer and Later Head of the Lagos State Government Asphalt Production Plant at Ojodu.
He also served at the Ministry of Transportation in Alausa where he was actively involved in various transportation and traffic management projects such as Junction Improvements resulting in the easing of traffic within the metropolis.
At the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure he was part of various engineering teams supervising critical road infrastructural projects across the state including drainage and bridges works. He ultimately served as the Director Road Construction Department within the ministry from July 2016 and June, 2019.
In June 2019, he was appointed as General Manger, Lagos State Public Works Corporation by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedication to service delivery such as:
• Completion of 848 roads since the beginning of this administration;
• Production and deployment of Cold Mix Asphalt which is used as an alternative during the wet season, amongst others. He was on 6thOct, 2021, appointed as the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Public Works Corporation.
On Tuesday, February 1, 2022, he was deployed as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Office of Infrastructure. He was appointed a member of the State Executive as Special Adviser.
