Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has closed two establishments, Landcraft Industries Nigeria and Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light), for violating environmental regulations, Eko mi Eko e reports
Landcraft Industries Nigeria, located in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, was shut down for severe environmental pollution, while Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light), situated in Oriokuta, Ikorodu, faced closure due to excessive noise pollution.
The enforcement action, led by Deputy Director of the Enforcement Department, Mr. Babatunde Gbenga, was conducted to enforce compliance with the State Environmental Laws of 2017.
Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, noted that these actions followed repeated warnings to both establishments regarding their environmental practices, which were ignored. Dr. Ajayi emphasized that the agency is committed to protecting the environment and public health, and warned that LASEPA will continue to enforce strict adherence to environmental regulations.
He urged all businesses and institutions in Lagos to prioritize environmental sustainability and comply with state regulations to avoid similar penalties.
